Nessel sues Trump over efforts to ‘restrict access’ to transgender youth healthcare

LANSING, MI – Michigan has joined a coalition of 15 other states in filing a lawsuit against President Donald Trump’s administration to “restrict access” to gender affirming care for individuals under age 19.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said this lawsuit targets an executive order aimed at deterring providers from offering “medically appropriate care” to these individuals, even in states like Michigan, where such care is “legal and protected.”
