Update: Suspect in Moorhead homicide arrested in Michigan, victim identified

MOORHEAD — The suspect in a Sunday, April 13, fatal shooting in south Moorhead has been located and arrested in Michigan, along with a woman police said was an accomplice. Police also released the identity of the homicide victim.
Moorhead police announced Monday afternoon that the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office said 39-year-old James Earl Hamilton died from multiple gunshot wounds in the 2700 block of 14th Street South.
The release said the shooting suspect, Jerome Anthony Thomas III, 35, also shot at another person three blocks away from the site of the fatal shooting, near the 2400 block of 14th Street South. Nobody was injured in that incident, Sgt. Joe Brannan told The Forum.
