LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – Michigan is launching a new initiative aimed at strengthening the state’s manufacturing industry and addressing supply chain bottlenecks.
Michigan LIFT, a partnership between the state, Ford, JPMorganChase, Michigan Central and Newlab, will connect manufacturers directly with suppliers to help address gaps in the supply chain.
Participating businesses will also have access to financing, workforce support and resources to help them expand.
State leaders say the initiative is designed to bring more critical supply chains to Michigan while creating high-paying jobs.
“Michigan has always been a state that builds, and we’re going to keep leading the next generation of American industry,” Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said. “Michigan LIFT will bring together our world-class manufacturers, innovative companies, skilled workers and capital to turn big ideas into real products, new investment and good-paying jobs.”
Whitmer said the partnership will help Michigan businesses grow, strengthen domestic supply chains and attract new investment to the state.
