Former Michigan football HC Sherrone Moore returns to court for hearing on request to dismiss charges

WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. – Former Michigan Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore is scheduled to appear in a Washtenaw County courtroom for a hearing on his attorneys’ request to dismiss charges against him.
Moore’s defense argues that the arrest warrant was issued based on false and misleading statements.
His attorneys have filed a motion to quash the warrant and dismiss the complaint, asserting that the truth will emerge at trial.
Moore previously appeared in court on Jan. 22 for a probable cause conference.
The judge adjourned the hearing after Moore’s defense requested 30 days to review statements made by the complaining witness, an athletic department employee with whom Moore was accused of having an inappropriate romantic relationship.
That alleged relationship led to Moore’s firing as Michigan’s head football coach on Dec. 10, 2025.
Prosecutors were instructed to respond to the defense’s motion by Feb. 2.
