CHARLOTTE, Mich. (News 10) – The Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame inducted 13 new members this year during a concert celebration.
The hall of fame recognizes musicians and others who have made meaningful contributions to country music and have strong ties to Michigan.
David Dickerson, president of the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame, said the organization honors those who were born and raised in the state.
“We have here in the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame, we have people that were mostly born and raised here,” Dickerson said. “You know, it’s one thing to be in another Hall of Fame, but when it’s your own state honoring you and recognizing you, it’s an extra feather in your hat.”
The Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame has been around for more than 40 years.
