Michigan lawmakers consider expanding missing person alert system for veterans

LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – On Wednesday, Michigan lawmakers discussed expanding the state’s missing person alert system to better protect at-risk veterans.
A House bill would change the Senior, or Vulnerable Adult Medical Alert Act.
Right now, police use that system when a senior or vulnerable adult disappears.
The new bill would add a new category: active-duty service members and veterans of the armed forces or Michigan National Guard who are reported missing and have a health condition that can put them in danger.
