A 14-year-old is dead after a Michigan City shooting

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WNDU) – A 14-year-old is dead after a shooting in the 300 block of West 11th Street, that occurred on May 15.
According to the Michigan City Police Department’s Facebook page, the Michigan City Police Department received a call about a juvenile that had been shot, around 4:30 p.m.
Officers quickly responded to the scene and found the 14-year-old suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The responding officers provided life saving measures before LaPorte County EMS took the teenager to Franciscan Health Hospital.
The teenager unfortunately succumbed to the injuries sustained from the shooting.
Investigators from both the Evidence Response Unit and Investigative Division processed the scene for evidence.
Detectives continue to search for video surveillance, collect additional evidence, interview witnesses, and attempt to identify a suspect(s).
