Freeze warnings join flood warnings for areas of Michigan
Add cold temperatures to flooding, where warnings continue in the state, with most of southeast Michigan under a freeze warning until Monday night.
The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning from 11 p.m. Sunday to 11 p.m. Monday for southeast Michigan. Temperatures are expected as low as 23.
Rain and snow showers are possible with wind gusts above 30 mph Sunday.
In Metro Detroit, Monday will see a high of 47 and a low of 37 at night. Tuesday and Wednesday will see a return to warmer temperatures, with highs of 70 and a lows of 48 each day. Thursday is expected to reach 76 degrees for a high, and a low of 58.
The freeze warnings include the counties of:
Saginaw
Shiawassee
Genesee
Lapeer
St. Clair
Livingston
Oakland
Macomb
Washtenaw
Wayne
Lenawee
Monroe
A hazardous weather outlook is issued for Big Rapids, Mount Pleasant and Bad Axe.
Elsewhere in the state, flood warnings continue. A portion of northern Michigan, including Manistee and Wexford counties, are under a flood warning until 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Flooding was occurring and other locations that were expected to flood include Manistee, Eastlake, Brethren, Wellston, Dublin, Yuma, Parkdale, Orchard Beach State Park and Star Crossing, the weather service in Gaylord, Michigan, said Sunday.
In the rest of the state, flood warnings continue for rivers including:
Grand River at Ada, Grand Rapids, Lowell and Comstock Park affecting Kent County
Grand River at Robinson Township affecting Ottawa County
Grand River at Ionia affecting Ionia County
Grand River at Lansing affecting Ingham County
Red Cedar River at East Lansing affecting Ingham County
Maple River at Maple Rapids affecting Clinton County
Thornapple River Above Hastings affecting Barry County
Muskegon River at Bridgeton affecting Newaygo County
Muskegon River at Newaygo affecting Newaygo County
Chippewa River below Mt. Pleasant affecting Isabella County
Portage River near Vicksburg affecting Kalamazoo County

At the Manistee River near Sherman in Wexford County, major flooding is occurring and more forecast. At 8 p.m. Sunday, the stage was 17 feet. Bankfull stage is 14 feet. At 16 feet, there was flooding of home adjacent to the right bank along Ojibway Drive, Ottawa Drive and Chippewa Drive 1 mile north of Sherman and flooding of N11 Road between W14 and W16 roads 1 mile northwwest of Mesick, the weather service reported.
