Michigan lawmakers to decide bill to show proof of ID to vote

LANSING, Mich. — Michigan House Republicans are working on an election-related bill requiring a photo ID with proof of citizenship to cast a vote in the state.
This bill was introduced on Tuesday at the Election Integrity Committee Meeting in Lansing.
The bill not only called for proof of citizenship to register and cast a vote in the state, but also mimics the federal SAVE Act proposal.
That would require showing more than a driver’s license to register to vote.
