10 Michigan state campgrounds reopening in 2026

Michigan’s state campgrounds are still in the midst of a massive overhaul fueled by pandemic federal funds. That means some of Michiganders’ favorite sites will be offline for awhile longer. The good news? At least 10 projects are close to the finish line and will be reopen in 2026.

These projects have been decades in the making, varying from new construction for toilet and shower buildings to infrastructure needs like modernizing electrical and sewage lines.
