ThecityissuedpreliminarydatashowingDetroitendedtheyearwith165criminalhomicides,down19%from2024and35%from2023.Comparedto2024,nonfatalshootingsfell26%to447,whilecarjackingsdropped46%to77,whichthecitysaidisan84%reductionsince2015.
Allmajorcrimecategories,includingsexualassault,autotheft,androbbery,alsosawnotabledecreases,accordingtoDetroitofficials.
