Meet the Michigan coach leading the best defense in college basketball

ANN ARBOR — Jenny Boynton typically wore either orange or black (or both) during her husband’s seven years as Oklahoma State’s head basketball coach. When he was fired in March 2024, she no longer had to wear school colors. Or at least not Oklahoma State’s.

As the couple debated their next move, she began wearing blue around the house. When Mike Boynton Jr. returned from the Final Four later that month, he shared an idea: “I think I’m going to go with Dusty,” he said.
