Whitmer sued for failing to call special election for Michigan’s 35th District

LANSING, MI – A Michigan law firm has filed a lawsuit against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on behalf of defendants from mid-Michigan for failing to call a special election to fill the vacant Michigan Senate seat representing Bay, Midland and Saginaw counties.

The lawsuit, filed in the Michigan Court of Claims by Outside Legal Counsel PLC, seeks to compel the governor to issue a writ of election to fill the vacancy in the 35th Michigan Senate District.
