How Michigan’s coaches are preparing for program’s most unusual schedule in decades

ANN ARBOR – Michigan’s football team had a surprise visitor on Wednesday.

Desmond Howard, a current ESPN college football analyst who won the Heisman Trophy with the Wolverines in 1991, spoke with the team as it continues to fall camp ahead of its season-opener against New Mexico on Aug. 30. Howard’s main message, according to offensive line coach Grant Newsome, centered around how players’ mindsets can impact how successful they are on and off the field.
