MorethanadozenpeopleinMichiganarefacingchargesinstateandfederalcourtinconnectionwithanationwidehealthfraudinvestigationthatresultedinchargesagainst324individuals. ThechargeswerefiledundertheJusticeDepartment’s2025NationalHealthCareFraudEnforcementAction.AccordingtotheU.S.Attorney’sOffice,thenationwideschemesinvolvedMedicaidfraudaswellasthesaleofcontrolledsubstanceprescriptionsinexchangeforcash.Federalinvestigatorsseizedmorethan$245millionincash,luxurycars,andotheritems.Investigatorsestimatedtheschemeswouldhaveresultedina$14.6billionfinanciallossand15billionpillsillegallydistributed.  “Today’srecord-settingHealthCareFraudTakedownsendsacrystal-clearmessagetocriminalactors,bothforeignanddomestic,intentonpreyinguponourmostvulnerablecitizensandstealingfromhardworkingAmericantaxpayers:wewillfindyou;wewillprosecuteyou,andwewillholdyouaccountabletothefullestextentofthelaw,”saidAttorney
