It’s strawberry season in Michigan: Which counties grow the most berries?

Michigan may be famous for its cherries and apples, but strawberries also have a strong – and often overlooked – presence in the state’s agricultural landscape.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Manistee County leads Michigan in strawberry acreage with 83 acres dedicated to the crop – the highest of any Michigan county – based on the most recent data from 2022, which is collected every five years.
