Trump approval rating: Michiganders polled on immigration, economy, tariffs

Arecentpollshows56%ofMichiganvotersdisapproveofPresidentTrump’sperformanceafterhisfirst100daysofhissecondterm.VotersgaveTrumpnegativemarksonhishandlingoftheeconomy,inflation,andtheconflictsinUkraineandGaza.IfthisiswhatPresidentDonaldTrumphadinmindfora“goldenage,”colormostMichigandersunimpressed. AnewpollofMichiganvotersbyEPIC-MRAofLansing,conductedevenasTrumpreturnedtometroDetroitonApril29toboastabouthisaccomplishmentsafterthefirst100daysofhissecondterm,showedamajority—56%—givinghisperformanceanegativeratingsofarasjustfair(11%)orpoor(45%)comparedwith41%thatgavethepresidentpositivemarksofprettygood(17%)orexcellent(24%).Threepercentwereundecided. PotentiallymoreworrisomeforTrumpandRepublicanmembersofCongresswhowillfacevotersinthemidtermelectionsnextyear,however,isthedepthstowhichthatdisenchantmentwiththeadministration’shandlingoftheWhiteHouseruns.Clearmajoritiesgavethepresidentnegativema
