InDecember2003,Sen.BeverlyHammerstrom—aRepublicanfromMonroeCountyandaformerclerkherself—introducedabillthatconsolidatedelectionstojustfourdaysintheyear.ThosedatesmightbefamiliartoMichiganvotersnow:TheywerethefourthTuesdayinFebruary,andthefirstTuesdayafterthefirstMondayinMay,August,orNovember.
