ThequotescameinasentencingmemorandumfiledbyhisdefenseattorneysonThursday,aheadofhisschedulesentencingonApril24.
Inthefiling,Smith’sattorneystalkedabouthispastandfamily.Smith,52,pleadedguiltytowirefraudandmoneylaunderingandisaccusedofstealingatleast$44.3millionfromtheDetroitRiverfrontConservancyoverthecourseofmorethanadecadebeforebeingcaughtlastyear.
