Michigan House passes income tax cut plan with some Democratic support

A proposal to give Michiganders some tax relief has passed the House with some bipartisan support.

The bill to reduce the individual income tax rate from 4.25% to 4.05% effective Jan. 1, 2025, was passed by the House on March 18 by a 65-43 vote, with seven Democrats joining all Republicans in approving the measure.
