Bright future: Freshmen trio will take Michigan basketball ‘to Final Four’

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Minutes after suffering a 76-55 loss to Notre Dame on Sunday, some of Michigan’s outgoing senior leadership was already discussing the future.

The Wolverines made a run in the Big Ten women’s tournament, reaching the semi-final round, and won a game in the NCAA Tournament with three freshmen in the starting lineup. They ultimately fell short, losing to a Fighting Irish team that spent a part of the season ranked No. 1 in the country.
