Two Upper Peninsula casino properties will soon shift to smoke-free as many Michigan casinos ban indoor smoking.Several casinos in the state continue to permit indoor smoking, often in designated areas.A pair of Ojibwa casinos in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula soon will join a growing list of smoke-free gaming locations across the state.
The tribal casino announced the move in a recent Facebook post, with the indoor smoking and vaping ban set to take effect at its two locations in late March.
“The health benefits of smoke-free facilities are well-documented, ranging from improved air quality to a significant reduction in exposure to secondhand smoke, which can cause serious health risks,” the post read. “This initiative reflects Ojibwa Casinos’ dedication to the well-being of all who visit or work at the properties.”
