More than two dozen dogs are safe after the Dearborn Heights Ordinance and Animal Control Department executed a search warrant at a home earlier this week, uncovering what officials described as horrific living conditions.
DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (FOX 2) – More than 20 dozen dogs were rescued from a Dearborn Heights home while a search warrant was executed by the city’s Ordinance and Animal Control Department, officials said.

DearbornHeightspolicesaidtheywenttoahomeoffFlemingStreetnearAnnapolisStreetonWednesdaytoinvestigateadogallegedlybeingkilledbythehomeowner’sboyfriend.
Duringaninvestigation,27chihuahuadogs,includingalitteroffourpuppieswiththeirmother,werefoundlivinginunsanitaryconditions,accordingtopolice.
Asaresult,officialssaidasearchandseizurewarrant,issuedbythe20thDistrictCourt,authorizedtheremovalofallanimals,sotheirhealthcouldbeevaluatedbyveterinarians.
