Free Press journalists earn top photo awards, Hall of Fame inductions

DetroitFreePressphotographerswon20awardsattheMichiganPressPhotographersAssociation’sannualconference.RyanGarzawonPhotographeroftheYearforthethirdtimeinarow.SixformerFreePressjournalistswereinductedintotheMichiganJournalismHallofFame.CurrentandformerDetroitFreePressjournalistswererecognizedfortheiroutstandingworklastweekend,earningmorethanadozenphotographyawardsandsixspotsintheMichiganJournalismHallofFame. AttheMichiganPressPhotographersAssociation’s(MPPA)annualconference,heldApril11–12atWayneStateUniversity,FreePressphotographersearnedtophonorsandbroughthome20awards.Meanwhile,sixformerFreePressstafferswereinductedSundayintotheHallofFamefortheirlastingimpactonMichiganjournalism.
