FourUniversityofMichiganstudentshavehadtheirvisasrevokedbytheU.S.DepartmentofHomelandSecurity—andatleastonehasleftthecountryattherecommendationofschoolofficials—amidanationwidecrackdownoninternationalcollegestudentsintheUnitedStates.
ThevisarevocationoccurredFridayandfollowsarecentdecisionfromfederalofficialstostripsomeinternationalstudentsacrossthecountryoftheirlegalresidenceandsubsequentordersfromtheDepartmentofHomelandSecurityforthesestudentstoleavethecountry.
OnestudentatU-M,whoselocationandidentityisbeingprotectedbyuniversityofficials,fledthecountryaftertheirvisawasrevoked,accordingtoemailsobtainedbytheDetroitFreePress.
